ASIMO, the miniature Honda robot boy has been busy these days. Most recently on his list of things to do, he checked off conducting. Yep...the little can of bolts and circuits recently conducted the Detroit Symphony. "It is absolutely thrilling to perform with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. This is a magnificent concert hall," ASIMO said talking to the crowd and then waving before the big show.
If you are able to get by the fact that Detroit has a symphony orchestra (not made of bums an vagabonds), this scenario reminds me of a little movie called I, Robot. Except, there is no half cyborg Will Smith that saves us from killer robots in the end. In the end we are just taken over and slaughtered like cattle. And the last image you will see is a small little white robot with a baton....conducting an inspiring rendition of Beethoven's Moon Light Sonata....first movement.
Witness...the beginning of the end.
