minerva mouse?

Ummmm, last night, my eclectic roommate and I were watching Jon & Kate plus 8 (in my past time I like to take on the role of stay at home mom, who gardens and bakes for fun). But the "family"...parents and 8 kids, went to Disneyland in Florida. After I tamed my complete jealousy (I have still never been = worst childhood ever) I was capable of enjoying the episode. And then my roommate and I saw Minnie...looking fierce as usual and we pondered, yes we pondered as to what her deal was. I mean, shes been around for years. Mickey is sometimes courting her, other times hitting from the back doggy style. I mean, are they married? Are they the original celeb couple, babies first...marriage later, perhaps. I mean...there are three little mice running around, like Huey, Duey and Lewie...but Mice.
So I did some googling/wikipediaing.

The Results. Though Mickey Mouse has an extensive filmography ranging back to the 1930 s, Minnie....apparently short for Minerva (not fierce or ferosh at all), got her start in a comic strip called, Mr. Slicker and the Egg Robbers, where she apparently was in a living situation similar to the Cosbys, but without the college sweatshirts and Afrocentric learning lessons. But the strip did include cross dressing, heroic feats, and a jive talking villain. Since then they have gone hand in hand. She has appeared in approximately 70 cartoon movies, but has never had one by herself. She does seem to has a social life. But they all look like losers.
As far as marriage Walt wrote the following about Minnie.

"In private life, Mickey is married to Minnie. A lot of people have written to him asking this question, because sometimes he appears to be married to her in his films and other times still courting her. What it really amounts to is that Minnie is, for screen purposes, his leading lady. If the story calls for a romantic courtship, then Minnie is the girl; but when the story requires a married couple, then they appear as man and wife. ."

Mmmmhmmmm.

And the kids: Well, though I clearly remember them in my head. It is a whole nother story to find info about them on the net. As popular as Huey, Duwey and Louie (and the lost Duck Nephew Phooey ::dramatic music goes here:: ) are, I got nothing on those little mouse kids.

So, in the end...it seems that Minerva is either one of two things. A woman getting played...she clearly missed that "Indepent Woman" soundtrack..."throw your hands up at me."

Or....she is a mouse Slag.

And I know what your thinking....Shaun, did you just spend all morning researching and birthing this one blog to a question only you would be interested in? And the answere is yes. Say something. Ill send ISLAMIC TERRORIST MICKEY AFTER YOU!
