the little things: trusting creative types.

here's the thing...you can't really trust creative types. I mean, in general, we are decent and good people and we are always interesting, but we do have really strong opinions. Which is why you should never wonder what is going on in a creative type's head. And you certainly should not allow them to express their opinions within the field of specialty.

Such is the case when an established magazine hires a professional photographer, who happens to be a hardcore democrat, to take cover shots of a Republican political figure head. Photographer Jill Greenberg , agreed to do the shoot for the Atlantic of Senator Mccain knowing ahead of time that she was going to screw them (potential presidential candidate and the magazine) over and create the most awful unflattering pictures she could possible render within a given time slot. Several hours of lighting the senator from below and zooming in on his blood shot eyes and wrinkled skin...she created these. Oh...and did I mention that she has a notorious  history of retouching her photos to make a point.

When inquiry came to her door step...her response was, "I am a pretty hard core Democrat. Some of my artwork has been pretty anti-Bush, so maybe it was somewhat irresponsible for them [The Atlantic] to hire me.

Life lessons: Creative types -especially the really artsy ones- tend not to sell out for cash. So in general...you shouldn't leave them alone with a controversial unarmed (senile) subjects and their devices of specialty. The outcome will not be as expected. And you, inturn will get duped.
