the Minnosota Timberwolves just recruited a new great talent....Kevin Love.
As much as I love the game H.O.R.S.E., it doesn't seem very valuable in....lets say, a real game.
Can he do the Ewing fade away? Because that takes talent....

oh yeah...Yom Kippur

I almost forgot...
Sure...the fair people of the Jewish religion just got a few days off last week, but hey...who am I to judge. I'm just one of the 8 gentiles sitting here in an office off of Madison Ave which has come to a complete and utter stand still. I just went to refill my coffee and I had to wait behind a tumble weed (ba-dum-ching..."im here all week.")
But hey...atleast I got to eat today. You should've saw the exodus from our office yesterday around 4pm.
My day so far.....
- for the second day in a row, my dunkin donuts lady tried to up-sell me this morning. I get the same thing everyday, but for some odd reason she keeps asking me if I want a coconut donut with my coffee. Which makes no sense...because no one else is being asked that. I have never brought a donut from them before. And I hate coconut. It kinda pissed me off, because I have also noticed that the coffee price went from a convenient $2.05 to a horrid $2.27. I mean...who has 27 cents lying around? And who likes coconut donuts?
- I then spilled my large coffee all over my keyboard. This is the second time I have done this within a month...
- I played online tetris for about 2 hours.
- And I have listened to the entire White Album at least three times.
And that's it. A good Yom Kippur to me. And to you.
Cheers.
pet shops without pets. it's art, right?
Inter-medium artist Bansky, just opened a Pet Store in the Village (NY). But like some many of his other works, this "pet store" is not just adorned with cute puppies and furry little hamsters. Instead...it is riddled with social commentary and cultural cotour (if you will). Below are a few pics....don't want to spoil anything for you (but mostly for me), so there are only a few.
It is suppose to be open until Oct 31st from 10am to mindnight. So get down there and see this sh*t. 89 7th Avenue between West 4th and Bleeker Street.
“New Yorkers don’t care about art, they care about pets. So I’m exhibiting them instead. I wanted to make art that questioned our relationship with animals and the ethics and sustainability of factory farming, but it ended up as chicken nuggets singing. I took all the money I made exploiting an animal in my last show and used it to fund a new show about the exploitation of animals. If its art and you can see it from the street, I guess it could still be considered street art."

as I've noted earlier...I spend alot of my weekends at the home of my significant other, which correlates directly with no cable. If there is one commercial that stands out in my mind as the spokes person for basic television...its this one.
Upon a little research (google), I discovered that this is not Optimum's first commercial. Now...when I first saw this commercial, I was a bit disturbed at their....ummmm, grotesque audience targeting. But upon watching the second spot, I am left wondering who exactly left their edit button at home.

Is it me, or are these ridiculously racist? Or does the utter craziness of the spot's actual content nullify the fact that they are horribly stereotyping all of NY's Hispanic market(which is rather large).
Ok, you got me....I do love myself some puppets....ustedes!
these ads are so gay.
Adcouncil has just debuted a new campaign, thinkb4youspeak.com. The campaign highlights the use of the terms "That's so Gay." Check out the first spot here.
This is their print campaign.

OK, so I understand this PSA. Terminology is used in a way that is slanderous to a certain demographic. Creative execution (or lack there of) aside, there is no way that the words "faggot" and "dyke" are in the same arena a "That's so Gay." And thats a fundamental flaw in this idea. These words are not in the same league. Or are they?

These words are not in the same league. Or are they? I once asked a gay friend of mine if calling things "Gay" was offensive, and their response...."well, how gay was it?" I think, what they should be targeting are all the frat boys who call each other "fags."
Im just playing devils advocate here. This campaign is just a little shallow for my liking. There's like half of a thought here and then they seem to throw in terms to stir up emotions. What do you think?
And in the end....will these ads work? Or are the kids that they are targeting gonna simply call them gay?
i want it: like butter.
i use to have a real shoe purchasing problem. I would consistently make bad life decisions and may or may not have whored myself out in my past, for a new pair of kicks. But, I have since prioritized and learned that not owning a nice pair of shoes (no matter how fly they are), will not be the end of days. I can partially blame midwest living for this enlightenment. But last night, I stumble upon these.

So....if anyone is willing to pay for my services....give me a holla. Cause all I need, is $100 and a location.

"There have been a couple of times during the campaign when I fell off the wagon and bummed one, and I had to kick it again,...But I figure, seeing as I'm running for president, I need to cut myself a little slack."

Halle Berry has been named Esquires Sexiest Woman Alive of 2008.

That's it. I mean...she did just pooped out a baby. And she was really hot sh*t in the 90s. But up next......Esquire's Sexiest Corpses 2008...cause that is what they might of well of posted, with all these fully clothed pictures of Halle Berry and what not. Whap whap.
booby ads.
in this day in age...it's difficult to get truly demoralizing and sexist ads to actually run in the public arena.
Only then, will your ad stand the test of time (time it will take before its pulled that is).
Unless you are promoting really LARGE burgers....

on being a man: say no to manty hose.
this is probably the most valuable life lesson i discuss on this blog (past, present or future). As a general rule of living....
A man....does NOT wear panty hose.
I recently ran into this under false pretenses that it had something to do with men's fashion. This, however is not manly. And it is not fashion. NO matter how you try to wear them.
As a naive young explorer........negative.
As a poorly photo shopped world traveler......no.
"Come hethering" on the floor like an idiot....absolutely not.
Straddling a suitcase.....especially not.
All bad ass with your chic.....that's a joke right?
Crossing your legs.....makes it like ten times worse......
I am forced to assume that this is a horrible joke being played on all of MANkind. The site claims the that they are,"support pantyhose... to help your legs, to prevent DVT & varicose veins, and to stimulate your circulation." But I can see though their lies. No matter how you try to justify this impeding joke, in the end you are simply this guy.
Don't get bamboozled people. People are idiots. Don't be one of them.

Round 2: no knock outs, but stadium seating is available.
I, like many other American's last night, was forced to make a decision between watching the season finale of MTV's Making the Band (which I totally regret) or supporting the future of this country. I choose...the latter. And I feel like I will never get that 90 minutes of my life back. A few points if you will:1. Upon some research- asking older generations- I discovered that McCain requested the "town hall" interviewing style that my brain was subjected to last night. It made me uncomfortable. All the pacing and the lack of a podium. Remember when Bill Clinton went on TRL (RIP) to answer the questions of high school students? This was not the same. The expressionless audience made me think I was at a wake. And I could've been...with McCain marching around looking like he was one hair plug joke away from a heart attack. They didn't pick the most literate of audience members (clearly they didn't have as much time as Palin to practice reading from their notes). My thoughts: Stand still old man...you are making me nervous, and you are far too close to me. And her name is Ingrid Jackson....she just asked you a question. And where is the beer guy? I got $5 and a quenched pallet.
2. Tom Brokaw. Sni-PPY.
3. Both candidates did well. But McCain had such an undertone of sarcasm throughout the entirety of the debate. I took it negativly, but I'm sure the rest of america didn't catch that. What you didn't know, is that McCain just got back from touring the Mediterranean with a small troupe of vagabond comedians and he had some left over material he had to get off his chest. "Im here all night." He also, has apparently added some new facebook friends we are unaware of (or atleast has some requests lingering out there). And...for the record, if someone on the street referred to me as "that one," and pointed nonchalantly back at me like I was his pet monkey (like he did to Obama), there would be a street fight. Haaaaaaduuugennnnn!
4. In the end, the debate didn't really make a difference. We all know who we are voting for- we are Americans. We are just watching this crap for fun. It's like some type of modern day gladiator fight. We are waiting for someone to get their heads chopped off, but in reality...these guys have their set strategies. But if you ask me...I think we are winners. After Sarah Palin completely murdered the term "maverick," we were lucky enough to get through a hour and thirty minutes without wondering what Tom Cruise was up to. The answer: Scientology, duhhhhhh.
