The Real vs. Fake Ad.

BMW takes a page from the stunt ads out there (think Kobe Bryant jumping over a moving car for basketball shoes). Dude, this has "viral" written all over it. . Commence argument in the comments section below.*

*JK, I know my readers. You guys dont come here to type. Just coast.

Whoa Dude, that was Awesome.

This is a viral at its finnest. Pointless. Ridiculous. And leaving no clue to it's purpose. Me thinks it has something to do with microsoft.

WHAT ever YOU like Ad (Colors and Randomness).

It must be nice to work on Ray Ban. It's kinda... what I went to Portfolio School for- to make work like this, drink in the afternoon and scribble my ideas on the back of a paper napkin in a dark bar. Ya know?

Ad Spots happening in real life.

This is new T-mobile spot which was filmed at 11am on Thursday 15th January 2009 at Liverpool Street station, London. Its cool. But if I were caught in the middle of the dancing...I probabaly would've fell to my knees weeping. Sometimes reality is too real (ie reality in sync).

This is a Viral?

I first saw this a few days ago...and I deemed it as silly.

But according to the Denver Egoist, it's a viral for Ray Ban sunglasses. When I read that I was like, "Oh yeah...he is wearing sunglasses." But that's it. A cow gives birth to a hipster. The cow birth slime kinda grosses me out. And then there is some awkward tall man running. And that's it. So, Raybands keep cow after birth out of your eyes?

Let's all take a step back and define the term "viral."

Diesel is getting weird.

Remember when Diesel made that funny porno spot a few months ago? I gave them props. I wasn't too sure what the purpose of it was...that was half the fun. Unfortunately, Diesel has continued making strange spots. They aren't funny. They have no information. They are called "viral." What do you think?

The Meat Puppet

Hair Bath

Dance Party (dancing style: tiger, lioness, labador retriever and Racoon.)

Sh*t is getting real weird, real quick.

"Limited Edition"

Introducing, the Nokia 96, a special "limited edition" phone that costs $1,200. It comes with an action figure, Nunchucks and rare photos of Bruce Lee. Here's the thing...limited Edition does not equal viral. Over priced limited edition makes it even less viral. AKA....stuffing a bunch of sh*t in the bag with the product doesn't make it anti-mainstream or more interesting. You are just trying to justify the absurd cost of your fanatic niche phone.

The only thing you are missing in that months rent of a goody bag, are fridge magnets and bumper stickers. Your kid may have graduated with honors, but mine just dropped over a grand on a phone. What a f*ckin idiot....

Cant hate on the Spot though...

This...is how you make a viral. Cha....

This is a cool viral for Guitar Hero.

Agency: Droga 5....possibly my dream agency, that's all.

That Clumsy King.

BK (Burger King not Brooklyn) has a new reverse pick pocketing spot that's actually pretty humorous. I have always found "the King" spots produced by Crispin Porter + Bogusky to be just... just too silly, for no good reason. But the King seriously just stepped up his game a bit with a new marketing ploy.

So, BK hires these undercover agents that roam around dropping thier wallets in high traffic areas. When an unsuspecting good Samaritan picks it up to return it, the agent tells them to       "keep it, it's on the King." Inside the wallet there are a few object: a note from The King to keep the wallet, cash ranging from a $1 bill to $100 bill, a gift card to Burger King, a “driver’s license” featuring The King, and a map of Burger King restaurants in the area in which the wallet was dropped.
The best part is the details on the license. And the free wallet isn't a bad plus either. I need a new wallet. For now, the marketing ploy lives in Orlando and Chicago only. Chicagoans (ites) would go out of their way to return a wallet. If it was here in NY...say, if it were me, I'd probably gut the thing and take the wallet and cash (and clever license). Don't Judge me.

I applaud this idea. This is true guerrilla marketing.

porno ads.

Deisel's new viral campaign is hysterical.

Kudos to Aoife...but I already knew about it. ::wink::

I got empathy for those bears.

While we only have human bums here in New York and the aggressive mutant bums reside in the clean streets of Chicago, in DC...even the animals are feeling the crunch of the pending doom of the economy. No...really, its a Greenpeace guerrilla tactic to bring light to the current struggle of our polar bear brothers up north.

And its great. Hobo bears (perhaps they worked at Lehman?...too soon?).

PETA should take a lesson. This is how you cleverly convey your eco friendly point. Its clever PETA. Clever.........

UPDATE: Is that bear scratching his balls? I just noticed that.

Cross Marketing Mistake.

When two completely separate products are randomly paired together...I always wonder whether consumers actually fall for the Brand mulatto romantic duo or whether...like an ad person they scratch their head and stare blankly at the screen in dismay.
Forget the hard work of cleverly placing bottles of coke on the dash of James Bond's Ashton Martin . Lets just market them at the same time....I mean, they are the same thing right? And people are stupid enough to equate their coolness....right?

9.16.2008

midgets in masks.

I guess yesterday was Child's Play's 20th anniversary or something. So what did they do? They put a bunch of midgets out on the street of NY with plastic knives. I hope they all came back alive. Especially the little guy below...he knows how to bust a move.

8.16.2008

the wierdest clip ever made.

or so Nokia claims.

I guess this is suppose to be viral. Maybe Im a retard...but I didn't know what to do on the site. So I opted to look it up on youtube.

I feel like i was duped into subliminal messaging. And Im pretty sure Ive seen weirder. 30 seconds of anything from The Science of Sleep, completely blows this out of the water.

But...I do still feel as if someone now owns my mind.

guerilla ads.

how thirsty are you.....really?

7.18.2008

levi ads.

remember when levi had that "jump in your pants" viral thingy (which Maya was NOT a fan of). Well...here they go again. lieing to the public. Helium + levis = flying. One could ask "whats the point of this?". But its like viral and stuff.

Is it bad that throughout the entire spot, all i could think was "its gonna be a b*tch to get that duck tape off."
