"...I usually watch black guys doing white girls, that’s my little fetish, even though in real life race isn’t a factor for me. Really, I’m more turned on by watching the girls than the guys. I love someone who looks like they’re really into sex."
-Aubrey O'Day (on her choice of porn, via an interview with Complex )

I love this girl.

First Dude.

Fox has some ground breaking interviewing skills. I tell ya...it just doesn't get any better than this.

There is obviously some editing for comic relief. But come on FOX.
COME ON. As in...come on board the REAL news train.

genius copy writers.

-Protestors at the Alaskan Women against Sarah Palin Down Town Party (Some Ad Agency should really hire these people).

Awwww, this is the second post about Polar Bears today!
How ironic.

I got empathy for those bears.

While we only have human bums here in New York and the aggressive mutant bums reside in the clean streets of Chicago, in DC...even the animals are feeling the crunch of the pending doom of the economy. No...really, its a Greenpeace guerrilla tactic to bring light to the current struggle of our polar bear brothers up north.

And its great. Hobo bears (perhaps they worked at Lehman?...too soon?).

PETA should take a lesson. This is how you cleverly convey your eco friendly point. Its clever PETA. Clever.........

UPDATE: Is that bear scratching his balls? I just noticed that.

PC vs Mac (on Being Black in america).

Oh my, this is funny.

Warning: The N-word is used. Proceed with caution.

There is a slue of this type of humor on the BCCO films ...thiswekinblackness.
Nothing like a little race in the morning. Enjoy.

a box of menthol pacifier lights please.

Everyone who goes to ad school is told the same thing on the first day: DO NOT EVER but babies in your student book. They also advise the youngings not to make cigarette ads. The advertising GODS....aka...the "gatekeepers" hate it.

But look...look what Marlboro was doing before the Marlboro Man. They took those 2 hated objects and combined them to form the most convincing print ad I've ever seen in my life.
These babies are asking, nay forcing their mom to smoke. And with those adorable chubby faces...who can really say no?

what men dont want to hear.

"I’ve had sex in all 50 states. A lot of it was on a road trip I took when I was younger," she said.
The best sex being in Arizona and Colorado.

"Maybe it was the clear air, or the quiet, or the endless sky... whatever it was, it was really, really good.”
And the worst... Alaska.

“I’d really like a do-over on that state."

-Eva Mendes

Sluttiness aside, this has to have something to do with Sarah Palin. Come on! Am I right? Huh? Oh, and I dare someone to try to justify this statment. I dare you.

girls doing sports ads.

they are def smoking something over in amsterdam (did you get that joke). But I do like the spot. It's wierd for all the right reasons. This is part of the Nike women campaign. Enjoy the randomness.

ever wonder what Michelle Obama's areola look like?

so, artist Daniel Edwards took the liberty of making a sculpture of Michelle Obama. Now, this is the same guy who created his own renditions of:

- Paris Hilton being seduced by her Chihuahua

Well this time...he has taken to the political arena.

The busty piece is called "Michelle Obama's makeover for America".

ahem...please note the eagle afro pick....and where are the nipples......
Im speechless.

VIA Ericka...thanks!

R. Kelly interview.

A few quotables from R. Kelly's BET interview Tuesday night.

"To be honest, I felt like I was in jail the last seven years...A lot was taken away from me. ... It was hell. I wouldn't wish it on nobody."
[i bet, you did...all that under aged vagina was put on pause. how horrible]

"It's time for me to move on. I can't keep answering these questions. If you was charged with something and you were found innocent, then you can't be found guilty for being found innocent."
[im sorry....what the hell are you talking about?]

“When you say teenage, how old are we talking?”
[wrong answer.]

make out ads.

i first saw this print campaign in transit through Chicago. And despite the obscene amount on PDA,  I liked them. They were targeted.  They were clear. They were clever.  And made sense.
I also think that they picked a good time to attack social networking. With the facebook slowly becoming a dictatorship and myspace becoming more and more targeted toward creeps (my personal opinion)......why not walk away from the screen and go outside...
Stop being a dork, and go make real friends (aka make out). BTW, you can only do that after you buy some gum.

you can be african too.

while racialicous debates the cultural appropriation of American Apparels new line Afrika, I will be the first to outright say that it is simply culturally insensitive. It's not racist.

Lets face it...it's made by hipsters for hipsters- FHBH if you will.
Hipsters...a demographic that prides itself on not conforming and being as obtuse as possible.  In general, they are not necessarily the most a tuned of demographics, when it comes to being "politically correct" or "culturally cognoscente." The only united front they do have is against corporate culture. Hipsters usually dont give a f*ck.  If their jeans are tight enough and their babies are tucked away safely in home made baby slings, and Williamsburgh doesn't burn to the ground...hipster could careless what you think about them wearing what it is they are wearing and why.

The thing is...cultural insensitivity can be more hurtful than racism itself. It is ignorance in the plainest of forms. Want an example...cultural insensitivity is an American anchor at the Olympic Opening Ceremony calling the traditional garb of a foreign country, a costume. It's unknowing. It's innocent. And it festers and grows within cultures and becomes natural. Cultural insensitivity hides behind the mask of acceptance. It's a Caucasian person saying "my ni**a" or calling someone else "darkness." It's ignoring the past and history behind a group of people and pushing for the future. But it's a catch 22...while its great to look forward, you can never forget to look back.

So...I don't have a definitive answere to whether people should consider this or not. I'm not African, so I personally am not offended. I also will not be wearing anything close to African garb anytime soon. But...that arab (i know it's not) scarf trend is still around, so I'm assuming this could catch on.

I don't really have an answer here...I guess I just wish that people (you the reader) were more culturally aware. That's it.

Cross Marketing Mistake.

When two completely separate products are randomly paired together...I always wonder whether consumers actually fall for the Brand mulatto romantic duo or whether...like an ad person they scratch their head and stare blankly at the screen in dismay.
Forget the hard work of cleverly placing bottles of coke on the dash of James Bond's Ashton Martin . Lets just market them at the same time....I mean, they are the same thing right? And people are stupid enough to equate their coolness....right?

wicked art direction.

see them nice and big here.
