Stalking Your Seed.

Facebook, Twitter Revolutionizing How Parents Stalk Their College-Aged Kids

This parody may be funny. But it is exactly why my mom knows not what facebook is. I mean...she can barely turn her computer on, but still... the situation at hand, is larger.

Cute Ads.

I guess it's fake. But it's cute no?

Trader Joe's Fan Commercial.

The only thing they didnt touch on was the beer selection...I feel like I'm in a foreign country when I'm buying beer at Trader Joe's. The video is quaint. They should pay the fan. No???

Delinquency or Toys.

In what appears to be a fake campaign from DDB (just DDB in general, apparently) , the print ads boast that Legos will keep your kids from becoming sluts, alcoholics and/or suicidal. They will watch less tv and build stuff in their rooms instead. Sounds like some first semester portfolio school logic to me.

NYT prank.

There were false copies of the New York Times being handed out on the streets of NY today. I saw something about it earlier, but didn't blog about it because I got "busy." Gawker explains how it went down.

Apparently, some 1.2 million copies of a newspaper that strikingly resembled The New York Times were handed out in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington.

New York Times Special Edition Video News Release - Nov. 12, 2008 from H Schweppes on Vimeo.

While some find the spoof with the byline "All the News We Hope to Print" funny, inspiring and clever, this is what the NYT times had to say about it. The pranksters said they made it in hopes of making sure Obama keeps his word on all his promises. What do I say?

Someone needs to be arrested. Point blank.

virtual ad space. obama vs. mccain.

so, on the hoopla surrounding the Obama ads in video games: i think it is a little silly. Innovative? Yes. Does it deserve the media placement award of the year? Perhaps. But is it relevant? Ehhhh...video game addiction is a tough opponent. I don't think the placement carries any more value than hearing their favorite song as they kill a cop and steal his car. It's just part of the game-their own world of shallow perceptions.

Whats more exciting I think, is the ad space McCain took out in response:

ok, they are fake....but come on, if McCain did try the same stunt, these would be the games he'd be keen to. Cause...you know.... he is all old and stuff. More executions here. McCain is so "the cartridge game that you have to blow before it works properly."

*side note- i was really good at Duck Hunt and i miss it greatly.

agency attack ads.

eewwWEEEEE, ad agency Karsh/Hagan is taking of the gloves with this new ad campaign targeted directly at Crispin Porter + Bogusky.

In particular...this campaign below was mocked and attacked.

With headlines like "Crispin is a sprinter. Sprinters are runners who haven't done any endurance training," and ripping off the artwork, the few ads below are an unadulterated stab to the jugular.

Ok....the first thing that popped into my head was..."This isn't School Daze....this is suppose to be a professional agency, trying to win clients over with these FRAT-astic antics." Then after a few minutes I thought to myself, "this is some ballsy sh*t." And now...I'm in limbo. What do you guys think?

Lame or Just ballsy enough to be considered cool? Low Brow or "a blow to the man?" I'm on the fence really. I think my interest in this piece of ad news may stem from the simple fact, that these faux ads seem like they could be the beginning of an agency ad war. And lets face it, with the economy in the pooper...what else do creative types have to do for fun... with budgets being slashed left and right (besides looking for new jobs...ewwww, too soon?). *knock on A LOT of wood*

lets get ready to ruummmmmble!

Oh my, this is funny.

Warning: The N-word is used. Proceed with caution.

There is a slue of this type of humor on the BCCO films ...thiswekinblackness.
Nothing like a little race in the morning. Enjoy.

true political advertising.

this has to be the most creative thing Adweek have ever done. With the Nathional conventions well on thier way, and slander ads pouring from both sides like WW1 propaganda, Adweek asked Ad creatives professionals to come up with their own candidate political ads.
These are my favs. Even though the McCain kicks are pretty fresh as well.
Im upset no one contacted me for this....come on Adweek.

olympic ads from yours truly II.

just some more great ads from me for the Olympic games.

lickable.

no worries....its fake. But dont u think this has some real potential? Say...to lure in a pedophile. Like, if the copy read something like....."To find out more about this lickcable treat...meet a rep down town on Aug 22nd. Wear your skimpies and be ready to impress." It might pull some business from the show To Catch A Predator...but, we do live in a capitalist society.....
don't we?

olympic ads from yours truly.

i drew my inspiration from a critically acclaimed ad campaign of 2007-2008.

What can I say.....the international games have inspired me.

fake ads.

I'm glad i wasnt the only one who thought Prius had lame advertising. Less gas emmisions...who cares? Great for the environment...::yawn::.

Someone made these fake ads with the tag:

"Well, atleast they Drive a Prius"
