"The latest collaboration between illustrator/director Nathan Love and NBC to wish their viewing audience a Happy Thanksgiving holiday is this 30 second promo which starts airing today."
I'm glad to see things like this start making it back to tv. It reminds me of the late 80s early 90s...when people had fun with thier brands. It's cute.
Well...the concept is "sweet-ness". But then the payoff is about the other kind of sweetness. Hey.....only in advertising. The rabbit spot makes my heart tingle.
I thought I had the science down packed. My dad had it all wrong when he gave me that "The Birds and the Bees" speech. Oh wait...he didn't. I got all my "how to get pregnant" info from going to school in da Bronx. Fact.
This ad is for Kotex, which is literally described as a "period protector." For such an logically gross product, you know this ad makes you want to smile. Go on....just do it. Smile for the lack of blood stains!
Meet Neil Berrett. Neil is perhaps the nicest person I have ever met (or havn't met). He just recently gave his 2 week notice on a cake.
"Dear Mr. Bowers,
During the past three years, my tenure at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard has been nothing short of pure excitement, joy and whim.
However, I have decided to spend more time with my family and attend to health issues that have recently arisen. I am proud to have been part of such an outstanding team and I wish this organization only the finest in future endeavors.
Please accept this cake as notification that I am leaving my position with NWT on March 27.
Sincerely,
W. Neil berrett"
His departure from Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco, was not only literally sweet, but his actual message was also as sugary. I just thought that I would hit you with some nice job news.
so i hope we all learned our lesson. Never trust a Pros Thought'sexclusive. I definitely watched the entirety of the 2008 olympic ceremony and there was no pee pee split touching. But luckily, there were other beautiful spectacles of precision, technology and culture to take note of. I was impressed. So impressed that I scoured the Internet looking for photo recaps of the night. Im no blogging expert, so I cant tell you to view the photos "after the jump"...instead they are compiled below this paragraph to make the world's longest blog entry that will cause at least a few scrolling finger cramps. Remember to stretch.
"this is for the kids"
this guy totally crouching tiger hidden dragon-ed to light the torch.
the whole 10 million fireworks in one place thing seemed really dangerous to me....then I realized, that its China. Fireworks are the least of thier REAL problems.
(ok....so i just found this one...but its a real picture. Which means it did happen at some point. And its genius.)
Unfortunately, I didnt get the photos I really desired. I really wanted a picture of all the world leaders just sitting there in stadium seating right next to each other....you know sharing peanuts, popping open brewskies and applying those fake cracker jack box tattoos on one each other.
I am about 4 years behind the trend and have just discovered my love for the music of The Beatles. It has literally been my addiction for the entire week. I mean, its not like you can find it anywhere (not on itunes or imeem), but I have been listening the the Across the Universe soundtrack at work. I dunno, its like I just discovered a whole new world, a magical place i never knew. So...I would normally be inclined to kick off the weekend with a Beatles' song. But, in lure of being arrested for pirating or something to do with patents, I'll leave you with a nice little video about friendship instead of stellar musical renditions. But let the record be known...I wanted to post a Beatles song.
This video should make you shed a tear. If not...you could be soulless. No biggie though.
Something in me really wanted to see the lion attack those guys (I am a little soulless). But anyway kids...have a good weekend. Its a holiday....so you be safe now.
P.S. I am well aware that I am missing a Throwback Thursday post. Blame the weekend holiday. And summer hours. Cause I'm outtie.
this video made me smile. No jaded smart remarks or thinking. No dirty joke or fun poking. No amusing story of someone elses downfall. It made me smile out of pure coolness and ingenuity.
A little Story to Get your weekend Started Off on the right foot. Or left...no need to discriminate.
Julio Diaz was on his way home from work one night...regular stop off the 6 train in the best place in the world, NY. When a boy approached him with a knife asking him for his wallet. After giving it to him, Diaz then offered him his jacket, saying, "Hey, wait a minute. You forgot something. If you're going to be robbing people for the rest of the night, you might as well take my coat to keep you warm."
Upon taking the jacket, Diaz offered to take the kid out to eat. After accepting and finishing up both of their meals at the near by Diner, Diaz told the kid that he would have to pay for the meal...since he had his wallet and all.
And the kid. Well...the kid have him back his wallet. His jacket. And even the knife. In response, Diaz gave him $20.
And they lived happily ever after.
***This guy is a saint. If it were me, and I got that kid trapped in a booth...I woulda beat him senseless, took my stuff, called the cops and left him to pay the tip (but like, in a totally friendly way)
Any who, to read more about it. Click here. And here is a little tune that will probably help us all be...better people if we are lucky- a mutant super hero, if we are really lucky.
