Islamic Guerilla Tactics.

The Trustocorp collective has decided to show their support for the hotly debated Islamic cultural center in lower Manhattan and installed these “Islam is Welcome Here” signs on Park Place outside of the proposed Cordoba House and another about 40 feet from the WTC site. Not surprisingly, with hysteria reaching medieval levels, one of them has already been removed.

Ballsy.

Coco for TBS.

Very Funnier! Can't wait.

Green old White Guys....is so yesterday.

Dont get crazy...it's just a design competition. Reserve the "Obama replaced Washington" anger for a different blog. This is waht we like to call....hypothetical design. SF-UK design firm Dowling Duncan put thier spin on the US note....adding a techni-color look, rearranging how you read the bill and varying the lengths of each bill (" so that when you stack your bills, you can instantly eyeball how much you’ve got"). Fun-ness.

Identify bills would be alot easier. But every other notion about the bill...has been done in other countries. Kinda-sorta.

Floating River Pools.

+ Pool is an initiative by a group of architects and designers to build a floating pool in the rivers of New York City… and they need your help. The project was launched with the ambition to improve the use of the city’s natural resources by providing a clean and safe way for the public to swim in New York’s waters. This site is the culmination of Concept Design for + Pool and they are looking to build a team of interested organizations and professionals to continue the development of the project into a buildable proposal.

Their next step is to partner with local cultural, developmental and environmental groups to raise public and private interest, identify civic potential and approach the municipality, while working with engineers, planners and specialists to refine the social and ecological performance of + Pool.

These are a good idea, because lets face it. The only thing the sucks about NY is it's lack of easy access to swimming in the summer (chicago!!!). There either needs to be alot of these, or it should be a membership type of thing....cause just the thought of another NY public pool makes me want to get STD testing.

Spirit Airlines delivers a jab....

...with this online execution. But in the long run, wouldn't you rather take JetBlue over Spirit? It would've made my year to see a flight attendant slid out of the plane. Jet Blue serves Dunkin Donut coffee. The have satellite cable in the air. And besides, isn't it spirit that charges you for carry-ons?

Jet Blue wins.

"...is that what you want to do? Or is that what is expected of you?"

-MadMen (Season 4)

Life has a tendency to eat you up and spit you out. You always want to do your best. In personal life and at work...but the thing about being dependable, is that people eventually start taking advantage of you. They start to just...expect.

Stewart once again...through the means of humor, lays down the facts.

1. Just as Freedom of Speech allows people to say lunatic shit, anywhere and anytime (and hey, if you add on some state laws...they get to have guns too), Freedom of Religion, does the same. No?

2. Murder Caps. Catholic Parishes built by the playgrounds. And Nazi's building signs next to Holocaust museums.

An Excerpt from Selling Death in Thirty Days.

Death interrupts a creative director on his lunch hour. Said creative director is non-too pleased:

ED (ACD)
You're death?

MR. X
If you need a name.

ED
I can't die. I really don't have time for this actually.

MR. X
You can’t refuse.

ED
No, but I can make you a better offer.

MR. X
One can’t bargain these things.

ED
Your brand sucks.

MR. X
Brand? I’m not a brand. I’m a reality.
I’m the most profound of realities, I’ve
been here since the beginning of time —

ED
-- You’re a has been. Yesterdays news.
A dying brand.

Mr. X
Funny.

ED
Life. Life is all everyone cares about. And everyday
we live longer. And longer. It’s a matter of time before science
catches up to you. You have no unique selling proposition.

Mr. X
I have inevitability.

ED (out of breath)
There’s always something newer, better, shinier with fancy
technology. Even now, there’s vaccines. And cloning. And
Whole Foods. Your shelf life is almost up.

MR. X
Death doesn’t end.

ED
No it just dwindles. And becomes obsolete.

MR. X
I’m listening…

ED
You can’t beat life. Unless people can be convinced to
seek you out. To want death.

MR X
Why would people want death? No one every wants
to see me.

ED
But they do. I sell death everyday. Think about it.
High fructose corn syrup. Cigarettes, Look it says it on the box.
And they love it. I can make you big.

Mr. X
I like the sound of that.

And this is exactly what ACDs/CD do. talk you into some shit. Gotcha death.

The Linkdown: I'm Back.

1. The last episode of Jersey Shore...was amazing.

3. Garbage pickers on 14th street...you are too much.

5. Enough reading about it, let's SEE the best "Fuck YOU I quite" known to man.

6. This is old new but poor Lawrence Fishburne, am I right? (and then Eva Mendes makes a sex tape).

9. Erykag Badu...looks like a Cockatoo. Not only is that true, but it also rhymes.

Your state is cheesy.
