Retro Ads.

Back in the day. The Green Giant not only sold Vegetables, but he also worked the pole at night....to...you know, "pay for school." Also a good find....the Green Giant almost shows us his niblets.

Retro Ads from the Past, about the future, in the Present.

These are nice. Moma, an ad agency based in Sau Paulo create these pretty cool posters for Facebook, Skype and YouTube.

The Black Gestapo.

The premise to this movie made in 1975, is genius.

My Parents Were Awesome.

A truly retro site that takes us back in time...to when and where our parents were cool as hell. Here are a few pics to wet your whistle.

Let's go back in time. You can't get anymore retro than this right here.

I can see your future....

...in my pants. Horoscope slacks. Perfection.

GQ, through the Years.

1957
1966
1977
1987
1997

It's pretty interesting to see how men's fashion has evolved over the years (via the cover library Gentleman's Quarterly). They didn't really start putting women on the covers until the late 90s. And head shots were big in the 80s (along with speedos). Sammie Davis Jr seems to be the first African American to make the cover.

But on a personally note...the bathing suit overalls of the 70s, need to make a comeback.

Talk About a Talented Individual.

I aspire to one day have a business card, half as insightful.

Retro Ads: The Shirt Suit.

It's all-in-one. A shirt....half sleeves, front zipper, drop seat(???). It has everything, except manliness. I will take two in Navy please.

What? A shirt that never un-tucks. That's pretty awesome.

Retro Ads: GayOn Cologn.

This is (was) a real ad.
"Do it right the first time."

The Linkdown.

1. The new Pepsi logo has something to do with physics and the earth's magnetic force. My highschool physics teacher just emailed me back. Father Corcaran's reply, "Pepsi is full of sh*t."

2. How to be a Good Wife in 1955. Somethings just shouldn't go out of style.

3. Selma Hayek ends world hunger. And for some reason...now I'm f*ckin starving.

4. True Life...I'm a Muppet!

5. This kid is f*cking high as a kite. "I feel funny...why is this happening to me?"LMAO

6. Obama got this guy fired. Thanks Obama!

7. Be Shepard Farley! Just make sure you don't use a copy righted image.

There you go...a little something for everyone. You're welcome.

Retro Sex Ads.

These ads from Loducca in São Paulo, Brazil seem to be stirring up quiet the commotion. The copy claims that Except for AIDS, Nothing Has Changed. Use a condom.

If we can let go fact that some things may have changed a bit; color photography, time, clothes, , furniture, sex toys, moving pictures, haircuts, pornography media outlets, and methods of impregnating and depregnating (not a word)...perhaps this is a plausible solution to telling teenage kids to wrap it before they tap it.  Perhaps...

But I get it. Sex is still sex.

Retro Ads: Interwoven Esquire Socks = Sexy.

I need all the laughs I can get. Even retro inspired ones.

Kiddie Vern.

For no good reason at all (except that I have a thing for midgets and it is Throwback Thursday) here are some retro photos of Vern Troyer aka Mini Me back in the highschool days.

Apparently he was voted prom king back in highschool. He obviously did no got go to an all boys school, cause there is no way this little man woulda won anything if we went to a Prep school like me. They woulda tore him apart with their prepubescent lacrosse playing monkey claws. Unless...like dlisted suggests...he squeezed himself into the ballet box and sat there rewriting all of the votes.
