Irene’s birth to death in 18 seconds. This video is almost as long as the actual hurricane. I'm officially renaming Irene Hurricane, Hurricane Whampwhamp (you owe be survival money, don't let me see you on the street).
I'm a little late, sorry...I was part of the 99% of New York that toke to the streets for Hurricane specials (Hurricanes for the Hurricane). Working map here. I will say though....if you are reading this on your couch and you are in Zone A. Ride that wave, man.
“The ocean will take care of this on its own if it was left alone and left out there...It’s natural. It’s as natural as the ocean water is.”
- Rush Limbaugh
When opinion leaders are allowed to say sh*t like this, we cant really wonder why half of America is stupid. Millions of gallons of oil...coming from a man made drill that tunneled into the ground. Is natural.
"[T]his bear sleeping bag is the metaphor of the changing the positions between being eaten by the bear, being a bear, who killed a bear and wearing a bear skin, or who see it and wants to hunt the bear."
The discovery of this video comes at an interesting time. I was just watching Talk to Me yesterday with my girl (good movie btw), and there was a riot scene in the movie that was the direct result of the homicide of Dr. martin Luther King. I pondered, out loud about the possibility of a riot occurring if Pres. elect Obama was murdered. She somewhat convinced me that people were less militant these days and that "mass societal attacks/riots/movement" were less likely than it was back in the fist pumping days.
This video proves that all you need is the perfect storm of occurrences and ignorance for people to act like f*cking killers. The saddest line in the 8 minute clip, is what that kid said at the very end. And unfortunately...it is how a lot of African Americans feel. And let's not even talk about how I had to find this video on a gossip blog, to even have known about the event at all.
“I was just thinking, this Gustav is proof that there is a God in heaven...to have it planned at the same time – that it would actually be on its way to New Orleans for day one of the Republican Convention, up in the Twin Cities – at the top of the Mississippi River.”
- Michael Moore
always a pillar of class and inner reflection. it takes a really twisted individual to think like this and then say it outloud.
I am about 4 years behind the trend and have just discovered my love for the music of The Beatles. It has literally been my addiction for the entire week. I mean, its not like you can find it anywhere (not on itunes or imeem), but I have been listening the the Across the Universe soundtrack at work. I dunno, its like I just discovered a whole new world, a magical place i never knew. So...I would normally be inclined to kick off the weekend with a Beatles' song. But, in lure of being arrested for pirating or something to do with patents, I'll leave you with a nice little video about friendship instead of stellar musical renditions. But let the record be known...I wanted to post a Beatles song.
This video should make you shed a tear. If not...you could be soulless. No biggie though.
Something in me really wanted to see the lion attack those guys (I am a little soulless). But anyway kids...have a good weekend. Its a holiday....so you be safe now.
P.S. I am well aware that I am missing a Throwback Thursday post. Blame the weekend holiday. And summer hours. Cause I'm outtie.
